How to embrace the chaos and enjoy.
--
“Stressed is being in the weeds. Overwhelmed is being blown,” beautifully expressed by Brene Brown in her book Atlas of the Heart.
Do you also experience this time and your life as stress or chaos? Is it this time with all the fast developments and hundreds of thousands of stimuli, or is it something that always existed? This question sometimes occupies me as soon as I have found peace again after being in the rough sea of chaos. The feeling of being overwhelmed by towering waves of stimuli, to-do lists, expectations, and so much more. Being completely washed away, drowning in the world and thereby losing yourself.
It seems that more and more people are struggling with this in these times. Are we living in a transitional period without a clear beginning or end? Are we floating around on a directionless (space) ship?
Statistically, we live in one of the safest times as far as we can see. For many people, it is a time of abundance. Although the abundance is still quite unequally distributed in some places, more and more people have an abundance of food and goods on this earth.
The abundance of loving connections, on the other hand, seems to be disappearing more and more. Different cultures with polarizing forces. “Change is the only constant,” said the Greek philosopher Heraclitus about 2,500 years ago. Change is timeless. That means that chaos is timeless too. In my view, everything continues to repeat itself. Every time in a slightly different form. The earth rotates, the sun rises and sets. One season appears, and the other season disappears. Everything flows into each other. Sometimes faster, sometimes a bit slower. The cycles follow each other. We are born and die. In the meantime, we all get our life lessons in an environment that is constantly changing.
The art is accepting and embracing change and chaos. How? Here are a few tips.
- Observe and contemplate the chaos and change. It comes and goes, and you are in the NOW. In the midst of chaos, your heart has all the answers. You hear them in silence. This is what I experience myself. As soon as I find stillness in meditation, yoga, in nature, or alone on the bike, the answers come naturally. Straight from the heart. The art is to trust and follow your heart and live your most beautiful dreams. Not always easy, in my experience. I practice every day.
- Practice heart-brain coherence. When your heart and brain are in coherence with each other, you experience peace, and you even enjoy being in the highest waves you encounter. You can find a lot of information about this at the HeartMath Institute and in the work of Joe Dispenza.
- In chaos, lies the opportunity. I am a fan of the work of Joe Dispenza. He says, “Create from the unknown.” That is the place where you let go of everything, where you are free to create what you want. That is also a place that can feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable. It can feel like chaos, but it is the place where you can find ultimate flow. In flow, you are super creative and productive, and it feels great.
- Trust your intuition. In other words, trust your heart. It has all the wisdom to navigate your path.
- Are you stuck in chaos? Move. Literally. Take a walk in the forest or on the beach. Have a good workout or a nice bike ride. Physical movement brings peace to your mind.
- Practice gratitude. When you wake up and go to bed. Make it a habit to be grateful for something big or something very small throughout the day. It is a powerful medicine to embrace chaos and be in the NOW.
Love yourself with all your heart. Follow your colorful heart! Be yourself. Enjoy!
